Bloody nose

A quick and simple one as I really need to have a cigarette and go to sleep. Pour some vodka into a shot glass, flavoured with vanilla if possible, and drop a little red grenadine through the vodka. Then drink.

Something to relax

Something nice and simple tonight as I'm working late and looking forward to having a drink to see myself to sleep. Its also possibly the only time I'll willingly drink milk.

Take a glass of warm milk, add a shot of rum, a spoonful of brown sugar and a little cinammon. Stir well until the sugar has dissolved and the cinammon is well mixed in. Drink slowly and relax for a while before going to bed.

Artist's Special

Half-fill a shaker with ice cubes and add half a measure of lemon juice and half a measure of grenadine, then add a measure each of scotch whiskey and sherry. Shake well strain into a cocktail glass.

Supposedly this was invented at the Artist's Club in Paris in the 1920s and is one of very few recipes involving Scotch whiskey which is normally drunk on its own or with ice.

Blue Blazer

A nice simple drink to warm you up on these cold days. Not only does it look impressive while being mixed, it also makes two drinks so you can share, or keep them both to yourself.

You need two heavy and deep mugs or glasses, something that won't shatter if it gets hot. Boil some water and add it to a mug, enough to dissolve two spoonfuls of honey. Stir until the honey is properly dissolved. Heat some whisket, about three times as much as you have water, until it is hot but not boiling. Pour it into the second mug. Turn out most of the lights and set fire to the whiskey, then pour it back and forth between the mugs to mix with the honey. When the flames go out split it evenly into two glasses and drink.

B52

Not updated for a few days, sorry about that. Here ya go then:

A nice classic shooter, the B52. Lovely and smooth.

Take a shot glass and fill it a third of the way with kahlua or some other coffee liquer. Then take a bar spoon (a tea spoon will do), press it against the inside of the glass and gently pour the next two ingredients over it to get them to layer properly. Add a third of baileys or some other irish cream liquer, and top it off with grand marnier or another orange liquer. Drink in a single mouthful for the full taste.

Bloody Mary

A nice basic traditional one this, great after a long night or just to pick you up a little.

Take a couple of measures of vodka in a tumbler. Add tomato juice to to up the glass, then add some tabasco sauca and worcestershire sauce. Finally sprinkle on a little fresh-ground black pepper and stir with a celery stick.
